Founder
For over four decades, Rabbi Doniel Lander Shlit”a has been a trailblazing Rosh Yeshiva, building yeshivas of great repute and transforming communities. Son of the legendary founder and President of Touro College, Dr. Bernard Lander, Z”L, Rabbi Doniel Lander has followed in his father’s footsteps, creating Torah institutions that have profoundly impacted Klal Yisrael.
In 1980, Rabbi Lander established the first Yeshiva Gedola in Kew Gardens Hills – Yeshivas Ohr Hachaim – attracting talmidim who wished to advance their learning in the Brisker derech. A decade later, he founded Mesivta Yesodei Yeshurun which has become renowned for its record of excellence in all facets of chinuch. Currently over 250 talmidim are enrolled in these yeshivas.
Mesivta Yesodei HaTorah and Kollel Sifsei Dov of Naugatuck are the product of Rabbi Lander’s recent efforts. His vision, as he describes it in the video below, is to create a model Torah community, KT Estates, that will join the mesivta and kollel in a symbiotic relationship.

Rabbi Moshe Makovoz
Rosh Kollel
Rabbi Moshe Makovoz is a Talmid of Yeshivas Ner Yisroel, R’ Zvi Kaplan and Kollel Tiferes Zvi. Prior to assuming his position of Rosh Kollel in Naugatuck, Rabbi Makovoz served as a Rosh Chaburah and Shoel U’Meishiv at Ner Yisroel. Rabbi Makovoz has served as mentor to chassanim and Kollel Avreichim for many years, while receiving shimush from some of the major poskim in the Baltimore community. Kollel Sifsei Dov has flourished under the leadership of Rabbi Makovoz, where he delivers regular chaburos and va’adim to both the Kollel and the Mesivta. Rabbi Makovoz serves as a posek for the kehilla and has devoted himself to providing shiurim and practical guidance for both men and women. Rabbi and Mrs. Makovoz are committed to the future of KT Estates as a vibrant Torah community.

Rabbi Aryeh Reiss
Menahel of the Mesivta
Rabbi Aryeh Reiss, a native of Los Angeles, California, is a talmid of the Telshe Yeshiva in Chicago, where he studied for eight years and developed a lasting and close bond with the Rosh Yeshiva, Hagaon Harav Avrohom Chaim Levin, ZT”L. Following his years at Telshe, he continued his studies at the famed Yeshivas Brisk in Eretz Yisroel and Beis Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, New Jersey. Rabbi Reiss spent his four kollel years in Eretz Yisroel, learning at Kollel Tiferes Tzvi (Brisker Kollel), and served as night seder Shoel U’Mashiv for bochurim in Beis Medrash L’Torah.
From there, Rabbi Reiss joined the staff of Yeshivas Ohr Hachaim as a Beis Medrash Shoel U’Meishiv, as well as rebbe in Mesivta Yesodei Yeshurun. Currently, Rabbi Reiss is our Menahel and 9th grade rebbe.
